Vatera

Vatera is a unique area that belongs to the Municipality of Polichnitos and has the longest beach of the Balkans. Fine, clean sand and real blue wonderful sea.

Vatera is the ideal place for swimming, sea sports, fishing and excursions. The whole area is famed for its natural beauty and is perfect for walking through the green landscape.

Very close to Vatera are settled the hot springs of Polichnitos. The springs is the proof of a previous volcanic period and their temperature is between 76-91^oC. That makes them the hottest springs all over Europe.

 There are common and single apartments for your baths, that are really beneficial for rheumatism, arthritis, gynecological and dermatological problems.

The area has also characterized as extremely rare due to the fossils that have found and are unique in Europe. Resent excavations brought to light a great variety of animal, fish and plant fossils. Between the findings is a huge tortoiseshell, 2,5 meters long. Many findings are exposed to the small museum, 2 klm away from Vrisa

Very beautiful area is Skala Polichnitou and Nifida where you can enjoy the sea, the sun and taste good local plates.
