Music, songs and dance are an immortal expression's mean of the Lesvians' psychosynthesis. They have been influenced from the Greek inhabitants of the Asia Minor. 

     Folk music groups accompanied by dancers dressed in traditioanla costumes - even today - give a unique tint of joy and authenticity to all Lesvian celebrations : at festivities and local fetes, at marriages, and national holidays. 

    It's worth-noticing that in Lesvos even today is manufactured the tradiotnal musical instrument of santoyri - present ot every musical composition. Indicative traditioanl dances are the Lesvian. The Mytilenean created in a climate of Lesvian generosity of soul and love for freedom and soul's authentic expression. 

    Also characteristic are the dances danced by couples, as the dance "ballos" danced by couples face to face, with joyful movements of the body, a real representation of the pigeons' erotic dance.
