The visitor o Lesvos can see characteristic samples of the local costumes at many Folk Art Collections and Museums. 

    Characteristic element of the Lesvian costume - male and female - is "vraka" - large breeches- usually wove but the cloth depends on daily or formal use. The male costume beside the "vraka" is completed with white shirt, black vest, black cap on head - "katsoula"- and black shoes. 

    The female one combine the colorful "vraka" or the long silk skirt with shirt and vest, while on head characteristic is the "tsemberi" - which substituted the former "koulouri". Also heavy fur coats, furs, woolen jackets and silk dresses are included in the local costumes.
